Married life down under

With all the hype of this upcoming movie, I thought I’d take this meme.

It’s likely that you’ve been going through a hard time, and you need to rest and refuel. You could do with some nourishment, and not just the caloric kind. It’s time to take care of yourself.

You find happiness when you put your own needs first. You deserve the best, and you should be pampered more. Relax, indulge, and allow yourself to feel totally full. You’ve earned it.

And I do so agree about the “rest” part, not that I don’t mind the eating part as well. LOL. So I suppose those diet pill comparisons will have to go out the window now.

Renovating the house has been on our minds for months now. We just haven’t really made any major decisions yet to actually start doing something about it. That is, of course, until our trusty old fridge died the other day. It just went out, without any warning signs in the days prior. And since we now have this opportunity to get a new one, we decided that it should be something that would go with the rest of our future stainless steel appliances. But, my golly, such perfect timing when we are knee-deep in bills, with a major trip home planned in the next couple of months. I guess those Kohler kitchen faucets will have to wait for now.

Thank goodness for modern technology. We’ve really come a long way since the advent of digital photography. I mean, we used to require having scanner software on your computer before you were able to share pictures with family and friends. Now, it is merely deduced to plugging your camera or inserting your memory card into your computer, and voila! Life is a little bit easier, I tell you.

Speaking of photos, we went to the Floriade last weekend and as usual, I had a ball capturing those gorgeous blooms on my camera. Have a look-see at one of them.

It’s the first of 2 long weekends over here. But because I don’t work on Mondays, it is not much of a difference to me.

1. Where are you from?
Philippines.

2. If you could live any place in the world, where would you live?
Europe? US? Manila? I am torn!

3. What’s your favorite blog? I’ll check them out of course!
Foodie blogs are a fave. Of particular is that of the Pioneer Woman. She certainly puts up yummy food!

4. What is your biggest blogging pet peeve?
Trying to blog, when you are least inspired.

5. What’s your favorite TV show this season? I need a new show!
Glee, with of course Charice to watch out for. But am also following Junior Master Chef, Undercover Boss and Offspring.

6. What’s your favorite ‘down’ time {nothing computer related}?
Curling up in bed, reading a book.

7. Are you a parent? If so, what’s your favorite thing to do with your children?
Yes, I am a parent. And I enjoy having even a simple conversation with my little girl and challenging her reasoning.

8. What about your blog, have you considered changing?
Yes! Maybe the design/template, but I really haven’t got the time anymore.

9. What do you do for a living (if you work outside the home or if you work at home)?
I am an occupational therapist by profession. On the side, I am a blogger.

10. What is your favorite song at the moment? What is your favorite song ever?
At the moment, David Benoit’s CD is on the player. I don’t think I have a favorite song ever.

11. What is your favorite niche TV channel to watch?
Food Network or HBO.

12. If you could have any career, what would it be and why?
A doctor or a chef.

13. What is your favorite outfit?
Jeans and a polo shirt. That reminds me that I need to go and get more clothes for the warm weather. I wish I had vitacost coupons to lessen the cost!

14. If you could tell your teenage self something, what would you say?
Enjoy your youth, and do grow up too fast.

15. What is your favorite recipe?
Tried and tested — spaghetti. But for dessert, it’s cheesecake and blonde brownies.

16. What is the funniest joke you’ve ever heard?
It isn’t exactly a joke, but a TV ad I saw one day. Click here to view.

17. What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
San Remigio Beach in Northern Cebu. It’s always been a favorite spot for us even when we were kids.
Here, maybe the South Coast would be it. I haven’t really been out that much, which reminds me that we really should start seeing other places here too!

18. What are you most excited about with fall here?
I’ll rephrase that to ‘spring.’ Spring’s my favorite season, because it is neither too cold nor too hot. Best picnic weather ever. And the flowers are all a-blooming!

19. Did you envision yourself to be where you are today ten years ago? If not, what did you envision?
Sorta. I have a good job, a house of our own, a loving husband and a beautiful kid. What more is there to want?

20. If money were no object, what would your dream house look like?
2-storey with views to kill and a beautiful garden. And housekeepers to keep it clean of course!

21. What is your all-time favorite Disney movie?
I’ve always liked Sleeping Beauty, but with Erin’s recent attachment to Cinderella, I am now growing fond of it as well!
