Gifted

Your Gift is Intellect

You are a big thinker, and you’re always playing with new ideas. You are curious about the world. You enjoy learning and developing new theories. You enjoy researching, analyzing, and solving problems. Thinking hard feels good! You’re the type of person who finds most mental tasks to be easy. You love to stretch your brain.

Yes, I do tend to think a lot, but I’d have to disagree with “Thinking hard feels good!” LOL. Especially at this very busy time in my life right now, I think I have enough stuff to think about and am definitely not keen on “stretching” my brain. Definitely no need for ephedra there! :P

I’m still here!

I haven’t felt like posting for a week now. There was just too much happening at home and at work, which didn’t really help in getting me in the mood for blogging.

The little girl was sick for almost a week with gastroenteritis. For a while there, we were scared of her having liver problems because the way she was excreting and it did take a while for her illness to resolve. Our GP reassured us that it was nothing to be concerned of would have looked sicked had it been a liver problem in the first place. So thank God for that. She did lose some weight after that ordeal but ever since she’s gotten well, her appetite has really picked up! She’s gained back all the weight that she lost, and probably even more. I hope this isn’t just a phase, and that she continues to have that appetite for as long as possible.

Work-wise, it’s been very busy and I expect it to get even worse in the coming weeks as a colleague is resigning this week, and I will be handed over half of her cases. This also makes me the company’s only OT so that puts additional pressure on me as well. I am also trying to get my practice audit in place. Hopefully, that part gets ironed out this week so I can commence on soon. I wish it was as easy as one of those admin careers, but it isn’t. I may even look into adding another work day so work is not all compressed in my 3-day work week.

Gosh, there’s lots of things happening as you can see. And sometimes it does feel overwhelming. I guess taking it one day at time will help. Will try to keep you guys posted as much as I can.

A Little Delay

Well, it seems purchasing a second car will have to be postponed for now. Much to everyone’s dismay (more so with mine), I failed that darn driving exam last Monday. Would you believe I only missed the passing mark by a three measly points? Ah yes, that Monday was a terribly sad and frustrating day for me. But towards the end of the same day, I managed to go back to the Shopfront in Tuggeranong and book myself immediately for the next soonest exam. It’s on the third week of next month so hopefully that will give me enough time to review again and hopefully I will be able to show more confidence in my driving.

So I guess it is back to the bus for me, not that I am complaining because I am forced to walk and get my occasional doses of exercise, which is, in my opinion, a good thing. Those diet pills will have to wait. :P

Hooked

I don’t know if you guys are familiar with Master Chef. It’s a reality TV show here in Oz about wanna-be chefs vying for the title of Master Chef. As usual, J and I are avid followers of the series ever since it aired several weeks ago.

I especially like the pressure test and the celebrity chef challenge. In the former, the worst three performers battle against each other and cook for their life so that they can still remain in the competition. They are all given one recipe of a dish to follow. Whoever cooks the worst version of that dish gets booted off the competition. With the celebrity chef challenge, the best performer from the invention test goes head-to-head against a noted Australian celebrity chef. Both must cook a dish that the celebrity chef has come up with. If the challenger manages to score higher than the celebrity chef, he/she gets a free ride to the Master Chef finals.

I love watching cooking shows so it is not surprise that I enjoy watching MC as well. Watching these contestants concoct new dishes, frantic on the bench top and copper kitchen sinks, is a delight. I suppose this stems from my being a frustrated cook, more so nowadays as I don’t have as much time as before to cook the things that I want.

Anyway… if you’re curious about MC and want to learn more about it, click here.
