Dear Lolo
My dearest grandfather, who is actually the only surviving grandparent I have now from either side, will be celebrating his 90th birthday in May. Lolo Nene used to be this very active person who participated in several community projects and loved exercising daily. However, his poor knees are preventing him from doing that for a couple of years now. For his birthday and if I had a magic wand, I’d take away the arthritis from his knees so he can go back to his former active lifestyle. Or more if money was no option, I’d provide him an endless supply of natural arthritis treatment. It’s too bad we cannot go home to the Philippines this year to attend his birthday celebration, but we will certainly be there in spirit.

Thoughts on parenthood
I have a couple of friends who are on the family way, one who’s going to be a first time mom, and another who’s having their second baby. So yes, they are happily preparing for the coming of their new addition (pretty much taking care of themselves and religiously taking their prenatal vitamins). I am excited as they are for these little bubs when they pop out later in the year. Parenthood is a choice and sometimes a gift too, and I am happy to have been blessed with it in my lifetime. I wouldn’t have traded it for anything else in the world.

Checking in
All this travelling sure does take its toll on your body. I reckon it would be the good substitute for the best weight loss pills. At least for me it works. Well, nothing like good old stress to keep my weight down!
And yes I am back from a 2-day trip to the city of churches. I met the employees from our head office and it was a very interesting stay to say the least. It is just too bad that I was unable to go around to see the sites. I mean, can you believe that I have not taken a single photo during my stay there? So unprepared, so unlike me.
But I am so glad to be back. There’s nothing like having my precocious little girl around. When she and her dad picked me up at the airport today, she said, “I am happy today.”
