I’m Still Alive

Posted by Leah as Erin Chloe, Family, One for the Piggy Bank, Travel

After almost a week of not posting, I am back in the blogosphere. Well, sort of. Although I brought my laptop with me, I still cannot log on to the web as regularly as I would have wanted. We’ve been busy settling down, and been at my in-laws so that the little girl could be with her grandparents.

Anyway, I’d just like to share that our fears of Erin being a brat on the trip home did not actually materialise. All in all, we travelled for 11 hours as we took a domestic flight from the ACT to Sydney, then another one from Sydney to Manila. The flight attendants from Qantas were such a big help in making our trip more manageable. Also, I reckon our plan (to keep her always on a full stomach and clean nappy) worked as she did not have her screaming fits on the international flight. In fact, she was quite friendly with the other passengers (who were mostly Filipinos), and got passed around. By the time we disembarked from the plane, quite a number waved goodbye to her. This little girl sure is a charmer. :)

But still, I maintain she is a handful since she does not want to stay put in one place and can get easily bored with what she’s doing. So much so that we were not able to buy any gift baskets for our folks here in Manila. This brings me to consider that I may be shortening my holiday here and just come back to Oz with J in July so that I can have someone to help tend to Erin on our return flight. We’ll see. I’ll keep you guys posted.

House Updates

Posted by Leah as Aussie Life, Erin Chloe, Family, Home Front

We saw our broker and solicitor yesterday and went over the contract for the sale of the house. Finding all in good order, J and I signed the document. The solicitor was very thorough and gave us possible problem scenarios that may arise until the time that there will be a settlement, especially since we informed her that we were going on holidays for at least 2 months. And although we have worked out solutions to these potential problems, we might be postponing our trip to Manila to June as J wants everything settled with us here present should anything unexpected happen.

I am personally not so keen about that as I am already psyched up for the whole trip. Plus, everyone back home is expecting us to arrive in May. And come to think of it, if this was to push through, I don’t think I’ll be able to get my 3-month vacation as originally planned since Erin is scheduled to come back in September for her Chickenpox Immunisation. Oh dear, what to do, what to do? :(
