House Updates
Posted by Leah as Aussie Life, Family, Home Front, One for the Piggy Bank
Well, the house is ours now and anytime next week would be settlement day. All the while, we thought that everything has been ironed out now as we have not heard from our broker or solicitor. Then earlier this week, while still in Cebu, my brother-in-law told us that our solicitor needs a statutory declaration for me to sign.
We were so disappointed because this was something we could have accomplished before we left for our holidays. The hassle of having to bring the document to the Australian embassy to have a consul witness me signing the document (and providing proof of identity by presenting my passport) and paying a big sum of money just to have it sent ASAP all could have been avoided had it been foreseen by our solicitor while we were still in Oz.
Well, it is no use crying over spilled milk now. Let’s just hope that there’ll be no more hitches and settlement day pushes through as originally planned.

LP: Tubig

A Week More
Posted by Leah as Aussie Life, Family, Home Front, One for the Piggy Bank, Travel
By next week, at this time, we should be in the Philippines already. Yes, there’s exactly a week left before we head to our beloved homeland. Everyone back home is as excited as we are. Well, who isn’t? Actually, I reckon they are more excited to see Erin rather than us, as it is the first time that the little girl will be introduced to them. The anticipation and excitement is certainly building. I don’t know how we can ever have a full night’s sleep now, even on our memory foam mattress. On Monday, being the designated packer for this family, I will have to take out once again our luggages and start drawing up my list of things to bring. The house also needs to be cleaned up, just in case the real estate agents drop by to do some checking. So much to do yet so little time!
