Mother’s Day Highlight
Apart from the usual lunch or dinner out, we’ve never really done anything special for mother’s day. So, imagine my delight when my little girl came home from day care last Friday with this.
So that’s why she was exclaiming, “Hands! Erin hands!” to me repeatedly as soon as I took her off her car seat. I know it was the carer’s idea to whip up something like this, but the fact that Erin knows that she did something for mommy is extra special! I’m bringing this to the office for inspiration. This certainly beats getting any of them soccer trophies.
If you’re wondering what the poem reads, here is its original version. Got it from here.
Handprints
Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my handprint
On furniture and wallBut everyday I’m growing
(I’ll be all grown someday)
And all those tiny hand prints
Will surely fade away.So here’s a final handprint
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
When they were very small.© T. Lambert, Jr. May 1978
So how did your Mother’s Day weekend go?
