The Wonders of TV Commercials

Yesterday, the little girl was crying for an hour. I couldn’t quite point out what was making her feel so bad because I tried all of our tricks on her to make her smile and forget about her ‘problem’ but nothing seemed to work. So I thought she was probably just plain hungry and wanted to eat. But when I placed her in her feeding chair, she screamed all the more. I was desperate to make her stop crying lest the neighbors think I was maltreating her. I was firm in my resolve to let her remain seated in her chair while I prepared her food. She was still crying the whole time, even while I was starting to feed her. But after a few minutes, the infomercial for a well-known acne treatment came on and she became calm in an instant and had her eyes glued to the tube, while I was feeding her. In the end, she finished her meal and was back to her cheery old self. Thank God for infomercials!
