Rooting for Demi

So You Think You Can Dance Australia is currently one of our favorite TV shows, especially since there are 2 contestants (maybe 3 as I’m not sure about Rhiannon Villareal) in the top 20 who are of Filipino descent!

I am a fan of Demi Sorono, who is originally a B-Girl, or one who’s dance specialty is breakdancing. She also teaches break-dancing for a living. So imagine my delight when she danced the samba last night quite impressively, considering that she has never done it before. Plus, everyone is used to seeing her dress up in jeans and a cap. But whoa, last night she was shimmying to the tune of Daddy Yankee’s Gasolina in heels and miniskirt! Check out the clip below.

I really am impressed with this lady and I am hoping she will make it to the finals! *fingers crossed*

i didn’t realise she was pinay hehe, once ko pa lang napanood yung show, nung nagsasayaw pa sila by groups tapos yung latin ang pinasayaw sa group nila.

Ida, I found out about it during their first show ng top 20. There was a video introduction before the couples danced and the show disclosed nga na pinay si Demi.

There were 3 filos in that show… Demi, JD and Rhiannon (part filo as her dad is filo but mum is caucasian)… i am just so proud of this lady… during the audition, her background was shown… they live in poverty and her mother gambled her life here in Aus which eventually paid off and she was able to get the children from the province and into a better life and look at them now….
JD on the other hand was a “batang kalye” and was lucky enough to be picked up by a taxi driver and was given to an orphanage then an australian couple adopted him….

anyway nabahaba na… basta proud to be pinoy! galing talaga
